I thought you might like to see the final result of my 30/2 silk scarf.
I am very pleased with it, very soft after washing and draping nicely. This should encourage me to do more work in silk.
The other thing I have been doing is to try and develop my designing skills. I would like improve my understanding of colour and how things work together. I have started to take photographs of things in nature that I like and then producing colour palettes. Thought you might like to see a couple of examples of those I have done so far. Excuse mis spelling of Azaela! Need to go back and change that !!
Very basic but a start and I have actually enjoyed the process so far !
That's all I have for you in this post. As always, thanks for visiting.

Hello Dorothy, your woven scarf looks stunning; love the pattern and the nuances of colour it achieves.
ReplyDeleteHi Dorothy, Your scarf is beautiful, you are doing some beautiful work with the silk. I was very pleased with the outcome of the weaving I did with the "Lads and Lasses Colorway" of the fine silk. Not sure it will take a good photograph, I will try. I love the color pallets that you are working on, interesting to take the photograph and then work out the color pallet.
ReplyDeleteWeaverly yours
The scarf is beautiful and elegant! Silk is such lovely yarn/ fibre to work with isn't it?
ReplyDeleteYou have placed the bee in my bonnet to plan a silk project too and once I have my pre-wound projects done, it will be next!
I also like the colour palette concept too and its very helpful for incorporating more colour in the warps or what to use for weft. Can you share more on how you are making them?
Thanks for the nudge!
:) Susan
What a great sraf!
ReplyDeleteThank your for sharing the idea with the coulour palettes. I guess I will make this when I dye next time.

Hello Dorothy,
ReplyDeletenice scarf! As the pattern is not square, maybe you are still beating a little too hard?
These colour palettes are a good exercise. The next step could be: try to make the strips as broad/narrow as the amount of colour in the photo.
best wishes,
Katja
Hi Dorothy
ReplyDeleteI love your colour palette idea. And the scarf, of course - but that goes without saying. :-)
lovely scarf!!!
ReplyDeleteHi Dorothy! Your scarf is stunning! I need to look for that draft. I'm also curious about how you put together your palette information? I like to carry a color wheel in my purse, but have always wondered but not made it as far as to 'see how nature does' in terms of colors in nature vs. their position on the color wheel. I would have no idea of how to put together the photo and related colors as you have. Maybe a tutorial is in order?
ReplyDeleteFabulous work, as usual!
What a good idea to make up a colour palette like that! Like Linda I wouldn't mind a tutorial of where you go and get the colours in your photo. Your scarf is almost a mix of the two flowers you have chosen to show us!
